Spine Medicine and Surgery of Long Island is a premier, minimally invasive spinal surgery practice providing world-class, cutting-edge spinal care to the Tri-State area. As we continue to grow throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, we are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and experienced Front Desk / Front Office Manager to lead and oversee our medical reception team across multiple locations.
Position Overview:
The Front Desk / Front Office Manager is responsible for supervising and supporting the daily operations of the front desk across all locations. This role ensures a seamless patient experience, maintains high standards of customer service, and drives efficiency, accuracy, and accountability within the reception team. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and can effectively manage staff, workflows, and patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily front desk operations across multiple locations, ensuring consistency and efficiency
- Supervise, train, and support Medical Receptionists; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all offices
- Ensure a high standard of patient experience from check-in to check-out
- Monitor and improve front desk workflows, patient intake processes, and overall efficiency
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for patient concerns or front desk issues
- Ensure accuracy of patient registration, insurance verification, and EHR data entry
- Collaborate with billing, clinical, and administrative teams to resolve issues and improve operations
- Audit front desk processes, including co-pay collection, documentation, and compliance with policies
- Assist with onboarding and training of new front desk staff
- Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented work environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 4+ years of experience in a medical front desk or healthcare administrative role
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical office workflows, insurance verification, and patient intake processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- Bilingual skills preferred depending on location
Job Details:
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-Time)
- Travel: Required between multiple office locations
