Spine Medicine and Surgery of Long Island is a premier, multi-specialty spine practice providing advanced, minimally invasive care to patients across Long Island and the Tri-State area. As we continue to expand our medicolegal services, we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Liaison to serve as a key link between our medical team, patients, and the legal community.
Position Overview:
The Legal Liaison will play a critical role in supporting and growing the practice’s medicolegal department. This individual will act as the primary point of contact between physicians, patients, and attorneys while also leading efforts to market the practice’s services to law firms handling Workers’ Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident (No-Fault) cases. The ideal candidate has experience in both healthcare and legal environments, strong communication skills, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between medical providers, legal teams, patients, and attorneys to ensure clear, timely, and professional communication
Develop and execute a marketing strategy to promote the practice’s medicolegal services to attorneys handling Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault cases
Build and maintain relationships with law firms and legal stakeholders
Coordinate and schedule consultations, meetings, depositions, and other medical-legal appointments
Prepare, review, organize, and manage medical records, legal documents, and related correspondence
Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of all medical-legal documentation
Maintain and update medical records, legal databases, and internal documentation systems
Assist in preparing reports, summaries, presentations, and case-related materials
Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and attorney inquiries
Provide administrative and operational support to both medical and legal teams as needed
Qualifications:
Prior experience working in a law firm handling personal injury, Workers’ Compensation, or No-Fault cases (e.g., paralegal experience strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of New York and New Jersey Workers’ Compensation and No-Fault programs
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive medical and legal information with discretion and professionalism
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related administrative tools
Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical workflows, and legal processes preferred
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
